At the start of this project, the Elsons envisioned a home retreat. The entire property was transformed from a vacant lot into multiple, functional, entertaining areas that became an extension of their home. A beautiful water feature was designed as a focal point that would intertwine with multiple gathering spaces and aide in moving excess water away from the house. Plantings add seasonal color while softening and separating the hardscapes yet help tie the overall area together. New challenges presented themselves while on site and design changes were made to continue moving the project towards the homeowners’ goal. Even though the project continued through multiple seasons, the Elsons fully enjoy the end result and it has surpassed the potential that they believed their property had. They feel that this is an investment in their property and that it has increased the long-term value of their home.
