In Montclair, NJ, we transformed a challenging, sloped backyard into an exquisite pool and patio area that has become the homeowner’s dream retreat. Initially faced with obstacles such as mature trees, steep slopes, and various site challenges, our team designed and executed a stunning solution. The centerpiece of this transformation is a sleek, Hamptons-style pool, surrounded by synthetic turf.

Our crew installed a new patio along the back of the home, creating a versatile outdoor living area separate from the pool. This strategically placed patio offers a seamless transition to the pool area, enhancing accessibility and flow. To cater to diverse needs, we included two distinct zones around the pool: one designed for sunbathing and another for relaxed conversations by the fire.

To complete the vision of a private oasis, we needed to build large retaining walls to create a level area for the pool. We enhanced the area with a diverse selection of plants, shrubs, and trees. The multi-tiered garden features an array of hydrangeas, junipers, boxwoods, arborvitae, schip laurels, and ornamental grasses, evoking the charm of a well-tended sanctuary. This rich
variety not only adds visual interest but also provides maximum privacy, allowing the family to enjoy their outdoor space with complete seclusion.
