As seen in the before photo, the client had a flat backyard. We excavated the area in order to create a two level patio that adds extra interest to the backyard landscape. The lower patio features a gas fire pit with a bluestone cap in the middle of it. Sure to be a popular space while entertaining, we built a seat wall around the lower patio to provide extra seating. The upper patio is covered by a custom fiberglass pergola, a perfect shade structure for the homeowner interested in a low-maintenance pergola. We also built an outdoor kitchen with a granite countertop. This neighborhood happened to have an extremely high deer population living in it. In order to ensure that the landscape plants were not eaten, we used an assortment of ornamental grasses and deer resistant flowers that would not be eaten and would also create a long season of interest.
