The homeowners knew this family property well, a 4 acre lot with sweeping views down to a woodland and pond. The original house was a simple, traditional Cape Code design. When they acquired the property, the new owners were determined to keep the scale of the house and views they loved. However, they also wanted to transform the house with a new aesthetic, one that they could call their own.

The first priority was to open up the house, creating an open plan with views through the house, and views to the beautiful landscaping. A new 2 story entrance was created which transformed the front elevation as well as brought drama to the interior. The kitchen is central to the 1st floor plan, open to the "formal" dining and living room as well at to the informal family room. A 2 car garage, mudroom/laundry, powder room and master suite complete the first floor spaces. On the 2nd floor are 2 bedrooms with a shared hall bath.
