Modern Yale House
While collaborating with the builder and new homeowner designing landscape for this new construction, we look at the house materials to incorporate similar modern features such as concrete and metal accents in to modern landscaping. Plants were used in symmetrical lines to soften the hard edges, monochromatic colors and plants with a distinct forms and textures were selected to work best and fit modern aesthetics. Mixing just few types of plants together and arranging everything in rectangle and square shapes worked great with the style of this property.
Modern minimalistic frontage featuring Japanese maple as a focal point was chosen to be visible not only from the outside, but from the inside of the home as well. Grey square cement slabs were installed to service the side entrance connecting the front yard with the backyard and cozy seating area.
