Mosaic and modern

This project is what I call a big little job, appearances can be very deceiving. This rear yard originally had no pool and the grades were shaped like a bowl from the house to the detached garage. Very overgrown, but we did save and transplant some key trees. The fence did not meet pool code, so that was replaced with a masonry/stucco wall to match the home.

We used the new pool to function as a retaining wall, by setting at the elevations of the home. This reduced cost tremendously and created an opportunity for a lower/intimate court space and water feature.

The list is too long to cover, but the Ipe decks and custom louver gates and trellis are several of the unique and fun features of this formal and modern space/garden. The charcoal color on our new walls and steps, create a great canvas, that will now be applied to the home.

The mosaic tile wall is also a fun feature to this environment, that was carried in the pool as well. The pool has a lap lane in the center, but functions as a pool and space to hang out with friends and guests.

I posted a few before and during images, so you could appreciate the transformation!!
