This was a spectacular opportunity to create a landscape environment that was as rugged as the original site which was completely wooded on the side of a steep slope. The site needed to be blasted in order to fracture the rock and place the home on the side of the hill. Enormous boulders and stone were brought in and placed to terrace the site and to carry that theme throughout the outdoor spaces.
