Old World Charm

Major renovation, restoration and addition to a 100 year old Tudor. The goal was to bring back the original dwelling and landscape and seamlessly integrate the new addition and gardens, as if it was part of the original home.

We fooled you, this entire addition to the original 100 year home is 2 years young, along with the entire landscape and hardscape spaces. The goal was to seamlessly blend the old with the new.

This is an image of the rear addition to the original home where we added the pool, pool deck, upper and lower bluestone terrace/pool deck, walls, out door grill and gardens that tastefully compliment the home and intent of creating an old world feel.

This is my favorite image of this space that we created from scratch, new pergola, bluestone patio, boxwood hedges to contain the space visually, along with the surrounding landscape that adds scale, warmth, interest, color and texture. Mission accomplished! Does this look like a new landscape?

This boxwood hedge serves two purposes, one to act as a "Green" guardrail to comply with zoning and also a an architecture form of the space.

Secret enclosed garden spaced viewed from the home office. White lattice fencing enclose this space, with a large terra cotta urn as a focal point, supported by lush new plantings (hydrangea, host, clematis vine and vinca).

View of the front of this major renovation. The new stone retaining wall supports the upper shade garden and terrace entry. The boxwood hedge, that was reference in another image, acts as a natural guard rail. The new landscaping frames and supports the scale and character of this wonderful home.

Beautiful new stone entry piers and walls welcome you to this newly renovated home. The goal with every aspect of this project was to blend the new with the old in a seamless transition. Everything in this image is new to this home, even the addition in the back ground.

Beautiful new reflecting pool, which was the third and final phase of this magnificent project and transformation. Within the pool and along the pool house are raised stepping stones to provide circulation to the adjacent spaces.

Completed landscape and shade garden of this major renovation. The broken bluestone path is greened up with Mazas, ferns, iris and boxwoods. Lush with texture and color (the iris and Mazas already bloomed purple and blue)!
