Pearl House
Ok, so she is not the most beautiful girl on the outside! This home was originally built as a 506 square foot temporary real estate office in the 60's to sell homes that were supposed to be built on land behind it. The subdivision never happened and this home was still standing. Over the years one addition was added, with a variance, bringing this baby to a grand total of 814 square feet. By the time we got our hands on it the zoning laws really restricted what we could do with it so we had to get creative. We went up- where we could (notice the roof on the front? That portion of the house had to remain a single story), which landed us somewhere in the middle of the house and then we expanded to the left, because that was our only option! In the end we had a nice 1840 square foot open concept condo alternative which was a little quirky, but checked all the boxes!
