This project represented an opportunity to blend different design styles together to create a dramatic yet complimentary outcome. The rectangular pool positioned along an axis extending straight out from the pavilion evokes a formal refined feel to it. In a juxtapose effect a dive rock anchors the far end of the pool. By introducing the dive rock it makes for the transition to an irregular stone pool deck more subtle. The stone fireplace and cedar pavilion, (constructed with mortise and tenon joints) reinforce the rustic and natural character. Overall the project has a pleasing balance between these two design styles making the outdoor space feel unique and dramatic.
