This Carlsbad homeowner was wanting to re do his entire backyard and was even considering filling his outdated pool rather than update it and resurface it. It was a very small yard with crumbling flagstone decking. They were shown how unused space could be better utilized by using built-in seat wall and bbq and an ipe deck to house some lounge chairs. It's a tight fit, but it turned out beautifully and as they're college aged daughter said, "I'm obsessed!" Needless to say they are happy with their design.
