The Big House

Carl Mattison Design was hired to assist in all finishes, floorplanning and style of this full renovation. After a fire, this once original home (but then quadplex) built in 1909 had to undergo an extensive renovation to be brought back to life and become the single family grand home it once was in this Atlanta historic district. 9 months later this baby was show ready! What a great experience and a happy home once again.

This 1909 home had been turned into a quadplex that served the neighborhood well for many years, but after a fire destroyed much of the home, it got turned back into a single family home worthy of the original intent of the home and more.

Since the home had been a quadplex, there was no "grand staircase". So, a "new" vintage newel post was brought in to make the all new staircase fit the originality of the 1909 home it once was.
