Queen Anne Resurrection

Built circa 1905 as an upscale, Victorian "Queen Anne", this turn-of-the-century beauty has been lovingly transformed into a sprawling, period-styled four bedroom / three bathroom city home by the combined craftsmanship of Balustrade Properties, Carl Mattison Design and Round-Here Renovations.

The bungalow after renovation. You can see two of the upper gables that were added but still fit the size and feel of the home. Soft green siding color with gray sash allows the blue of the door to pop.

A vintage, salvaged wood door replaced the original and was painted a bright blue to match the beadboard porch ceiling. The fresh color happily welcomes you home every day.

Tone on tone palette is one of the features of this dining room. The moulding is the same gray color as the walls. Fireplace is also the same color creating a warm, soft, inviting room next to the open kitchen. Dark stained original heart of pine flooring anchors the look.

The porch was in a sad but workable state. The vinyl siding was removed and new flooring was put on creating the southern style porch one dreams of.

The rolled top gas lantern was a perfect accent to a vintage style porch as it would have been there originally when the home was built in the early 1900s.

Before
The walk through space between two rooms and one of the home's fireplaces were two of the few concessions we accepted to improve the flow and use of the home. A vintage-style hall bath was put in the area giving the home the proper spaces it so desperately needed.

The original 7' wide hallway had been closed up in the past and vinyl tile had been added. Wall board was removed, original heart of pine floors refinished and new wall paneling and fixtures added to round out the vintage, yet modern look.

The new kitchen was literally put in the exact location as the old with some obvious changes. White Vermont Eureka Danby Marble and Leathered Absolute Black marble counters, custom pillow embossed cabinetry were added with Arabesque white tile backsplash to create an inviting cooks kitchen.

This small sink nook in a bungled bathroom was the perfect place to add a master bedroom coffee "nook". this area is across from the master closet and leads directly into the new master bath that was once the summer kitchen in the home.
