THE QUEEN ELIZABETH PROJECT
These homeowners had missed out on a new build project I had worked on with Dan Souther and Round Here. They then decided on a renovation project to create their dream home. Fast forward a few months after Justin Landis helped them land the property and I was brought in to assist them in the design work. It was a long and arduous process, definitely the largest home (over 6,000 square feet of it) I had ever worked on. We took a once grand home in the Inman Park Historic District and brought it back to life for this wonderful family of 5 plus 5 pets. There now is no evidence of the room that had been smoked in for many many years with no ventilation, no notice of the decaying floors, darkness, mangled messes of tangled hoses bringing water to clawfoot tubs for makeshift baths and no more stripper's flop rooms. Now, there are fresh finishes, a full chef's kitchen, guest rooms and tucked in powder rooms, plenty of light, reclaimed wood mantels and shelves, repurposed and refitted orginal judges paneling, painted mantels and refreshed pocket doors. Most importantly, this home now has a classic look and feel in a grand stately manner fit for a Queen... right on Elizabeth Street. It was more than a pleasure to help these homeowners achieve their dream.
