This project began with a passion so strong for a spa and a place to unwind outdoors that the client had already purchased it before taking to a designer. Their intention was to put it down on the lower level next to the creek. We knew that they would want it as close to the house as possible. So we found a spot mid-way down the slope and gave a wide comfortable stairway access from the house. We retained the slope on one side with three walls doing double duty as planters, and added a tall retaining wall on the other side with a uniquely designed floating bench. Color studies were done with the client to decide on new colors for the house and the exterior finishes.
