This project was the winner in its category of the 2017 Bay Area Remodeling Awards. Our client decided to live out the rest of her days in the home where she had raised her family and to share it with her dear friend and roommate. The two had plans to entertain and lead very social lives, but the house had a closed-off feeling that made entertaining challenging. Their architect was inspired by the arch in the existing plan so walls gave way to another 5 arches creating a light-filled, functional and airy space with gorgeous views from every angle; a dream kitchen and newly functional spaces for laundry, the pantry, the study, the dining room and a stairwell.
