Transitional Kitchen Remodel Part 2
The first time the client had our company remodel their kitchen they wanted a more useful island and additional storage over the sink. Four years later, they asked us to come back and address the 'visual clutter' in their kitchen. They wanted to change the countertop to the more calming quartz they had used on the island, and also didn't quite know the solution to the busyiness on the back wall. A compilation of ideas came together, and a more streamlined design was created. Extending the cabinets to the ceiling with a simple crown detail tied the perimeter and island cabinetry together. Adding a bit of simple detail in the door fronts also connected the 1st remodel with the 2nd. Changing the configuration of the cabinetry over the sink to align with the hood gave a continuous line to follow; and something as simple as changing to a plug strip instead of multiple outlets cleaned up the look of the backsplash.
