Valley Villa
This Calabasas home in The Oaks was designed as a Tuscan Villa with expansive rooms and high beamed ceilings. Over a few years, this project included a redesign of many of the interior spaces in the home including the Master Suite, Breakfast Room and Family Room. The overall design intent was to create a more contemporary design while paying homage to the home’s Tuscan roots.
With an impressively sized canvas, this Tuscan villa's master suite was a pleasure to transform. The original builder of the home used a uniform travertine flooring throughout the house. Knowing that we wanted to maintain the flooring (everything else in the bathroom was gutted and remodeled) I was confronted with a flooring challenge when the old platform tub was removed. I could no longer find the perfect match for the large tiles but found a mosaic that complimented the existing. The large scale leaf wallpaper in the bedroom was our starting point for a grey and blue color color palette that flows flawlessly from the bathroom. The owners loved the idea of recovering some antique chairs as well as adding some new furnishings and modern accents to the sitting room.
