Moving from Austin, Texas to South Lake Tahoe, California was a huge move for this family of four. But drawn to the house's close proximity to the ski hill and its wooded views, this house soon became home.

The challenge was to revamp the first floor including the addition of a three-sided gas fireplace separating the living and dining rooms, the reconfiguration of the kitchen to include a bar and peninsula and the expansion of the master suite into the adjacent guest bedroom in order to gain much needed space for an enlarged master bath and walk-in closet.

The light pine wood flooring and vaulted wood ceilings made a jump to a grey and white modern color palette difficult so we went with taupes and creams to connect the rustic light pine with a more modern, sleek look. The result is a fabulous transformation!
