When faced with the decision to either update their family home, or sell and start over, this family couldn't bear the thought of leaving behind their last two decades of memories. The choice was clear...time to remodel! The outdated color palette and tight layout were addressed to create a fresh and open feel, while being functional for the next season of life with grown children. While some of the previous cabinets stayed, several new cabinets were added as the kitchen expanded, and several cabinet doors were converted to more usable drawers. The new layout that opened the kitchen with the living and dining room created challenges with varying ceiling heights and types, so all ceiling framing was removed in all 3 rooms and converted to a beautiful coffered design with added beams for character. Gorgeous engineered european oak floors were laid throughout the home in a chevron pattern, and custom wrought iron doors were added along the entire back of the home to let in loads of natural light into the kitchen and adjoining dining area. All new finishes including luxury Cambria countertop, new tile backsplash, lighting, and plumbing fixtures create an updated, classic look that will serve these homeowners for years to come.
