Award Winning Cottages
The owner wanted a home that would fit in with the local cottage style buildings, infused with a contemporary exterior feel. The three cottage compound was built on a mid-coast Maine peninsula and was designed to be easily maintained and could be opened closed seasonally without much effort. The separation of each cottage allows for the interconnecting deck to act as an outdoor living space. With the sea surrounding the cottages, there are powerful views from every angle making these simple structures truly powerful. This series of coastal cottages won the AIA Maine Design Award in 1989.
