The architect wanted the young couple to feel as if they were walking onto their dock when they walked down the wide steps and entered their lakeside camp. The entryway is exclamated by the handmade, one-of-a-kind staircase. The camp is situated so that the views of the lake are maximized from their point of land - this is done through walls of glass that open and allow for the indoor/outdoor living that makes spending summers in Maine memorable. The terraces are extensions of the interior rooms and walls, and extend the building out into the landscape.
