Brookline Victorian

We took this four-story 1890 Victorian home down to the frame and added an attached garage with a roof deck above. One challenge was the narrowness of the lot. The other challenge was how to aesthetically tie the new garage into the existing house, and physically connect five intermediate levels. Our solution called for a conservatory style connector between the garage and the house to serve as a stair tower. The use of glass and curved copper kept with the character and period of the house, and created a pleasant transition between levels and spaces.
