Hillside Avenue
We wanted to create a contemporary kitchen that was respectful to this late 19th century Victorian home. So we integrated traditional moldings, paned window transoms, and a new eating bay with the clean lines of the maple cabinetry, concrete counters, and cork floors. By carefully locating windows and aligning them with openings to adjacent rooms, we created visual axes that make narrow spaces feel more generous. This project also included the repair, restoration, and extension of the original Victorian staircase from the second to the third floor.
