The Peak View project was a classic remodel story. The family loves their home and the neighborhood so relocating wasn’t an option. But the kitchen and informal dining area felt dark, closed off, and cramped in addition to lacking storage and prep space. The remodel plan included all new cabinets, counter tops, and slight changes to the layout to maximize storage and counter space. Though the soffits couldn’t be removed completely, they were reduced as much as possible to raise the ceiling. We removed the door to the laundry room at the back of the kitchen because it was always in the way and made getting into and out of the laundry room cumbersome and awkward.
