Main Floor Remodel

This Centennial main floor remodel reimagined a dated 1990s layout into a warm, connected space designed for everyday living and effortless gathering. The original floor plan featured segmented rooms, limited sightlines, and transitions that made hosting feel more complicated than it needed to be.
The goal of this renovation was simple but impactful: create a main floor that feels open, intuitive, and inviting, while supporting how the family actually lives, cooks, and spends time together.

The family room was redesigned to better connect with the kitchen and dining areas while creating a strong visual focal point. A new fireplace wall finished in plaster, paired with a custom mantel and built-in cabinetry, brings balance and warmth to the space.

The original kitchen felt tight and enclosed, with limited room to gather or move comfortably. By reclaiming square footage from the dining room, the kitchen was expanded and re-centered around a generous island with seating for six.

The new layout supports shared cooking, casual meals, and conversation, allowing the kitchen to function as the true heart of the home.

One of the most impactful changes was removing the railing between the kitchen and family room and replacing it with a built-in banquette. This small but thoughtful design move softened the transition between spaces and created an inviting nook that naturally draws people in.

A walk-in pantry was seamlessly integrated into the architecture, providing ample storage along with a refrigerator and landing zone for small appliances, keeping the main kitchen clean and uncluttered.

Before the remodel, the dining room felt formal and underutilized. The redesigned space now serves as a welcoming destination for everyday meals and longer gatherings.

A new stone fireplace surround and mantel anchor the room, while wainscoting, updated furnishings, and layered lighting add warmth and character. The result is a dining room that feels intentional, comfortable, and well connected to the surrounding spaces.

Behind the scenes, the laundry and mudroom were redesigned to support busy daily routines. A new utility sink, built-in storage, and dedicated drop zones for coats, bags, and everyday items bring order and ease to one of the home’s most hardworking spaces.

The powder room was thoughtfully updated to reflect the warmth and material palette of the main living spaces. Refined finishes, improved lighting, and a cohesive design approach transformed this small space from a functional afterthought into a polished moment within the home.
