Colorful Eclectic Kitchen
Unique style and increased functionality were the goal of this kitchen remodel. Our clients wanted their space to have a creative design with a major wow-factor, so we integrated bold colors, brought in more natural light, and custom millwork.
The original layout of the kitchen had virtually no counter space, so we installed fresh new marble counters and a large kitchen island. Additional storage was added throughout the space with plenty of pull-out drawers and cabinets. The final touch was painting the kitchen island a deep red, which paired beautifully with the warm hue of the butcher block countertop.
We extended the feel of the kitchen by removing a wall that connected to an adjacent bedroom, thus creating a bright and airy space with plenty of natural light and a feeling of openness. The connecting room went through minor changes as well, outfitted with custom drawers to match the kitchen cabinets, tying the spaces together seamlessly with the rest of the home.
Lastly, we renovated the dining area to match the new and improved kitchen aesthetic. Two stained glass windows were installed, bringing in more sunlight and creating symmetry. Accents of teal, bursts of wood, and contemporary pendant lighting match the features in the kitchen, ensuring a complementary and cohesive design. One of the most unique features of the dining room is the secret door. The teal bookshelf is actually a doorway that leads to an old staircase that was previously walled off - it is now used as a nifty closet.
Project designed by Skokie renovation firm, Chi Renovations & Design - general contractors, kitchen and bath remodelers, and design & build company. They serve the Chicago area, and it's surrounding suburbs, with an emphasis on the North Side and North Shore. You'll find their work from the Loop through Lincoln Park, Skokie, Evanston, Wilmette, and all the way up to Lake Forest.
