An older home with lots of natural quirky charm was in need of a kitchen makeover. Originally lacking counter space and storage, these were the two key elements that guided the entire remodel. We loved the amount of natural light already available, so we decided to keep the windows and doors as they were (although not the ideal layout) -- so we worked around this floor plan adding in tons of new counter space, an adjustable pull-out pantry, and a large peninsula. To give the kitchen a more up-to-date look, we also installed a gorgeous marble backsplash, glass door cabinets, and wonderful artisan hand-made floating shelves (made out of old barn wood!). Our last touch was a modern stainless steel movable work table to act as a slim and sleek kitchen island. The fact that the island is movable only enhances the overall functionality and flexibility of this large space, making this the perfect place to host guests and entertain!
