Patriot Builders built this custom-designed home on “spec” and it was purchased upon completion in 2013. Because the lot is in a flood zone and abutting conservation land, it presented multiple challenges. An existing, approved footprint needed to be adhered to as well. To best maximize the buildable area, our designer created a gambrel-style plan that situated a secluded master suite, with an adjoining balcony, up a half-flight of stairs from the living area. Three additional bedrooms are on an upper level. The light-filled,open main living space features a fireplace surrounded by custom built-ins, a spacious kitchen anchored by a large island and a dining area with a wall of windows. French doors open onto a terrace with peeks of nearby Saquatucket Harbor.
