Darnestown Project

Although the architectural style of this Darneston home is very traditional the backyard garden is quite the opposite.
Our crews constructed a Japanese tea garden style landscape featuring an island pagoda style pavilion, koi pond, waterfall and a solid stone moon gate.

The solid stone "moon gate" is the primary entry to the garden. It frames the pagoda style pavilion and the "good karma" boulder.

The pavilion appears to float over the koi pond. Carefully placed boulders and river stone reinforce the simplicity of nature.

Pressure treated planks with rafter beams create a simple yet bold ceiling for the pavilion.

The gateway to the Japanese tea garden style retreat is framed by tree trunk columns milled and dowelled on site by our carpenters. The Asian inscription reads "Hidden Garden".
