When these homeowners purchased their home, the kitchen had been recently remodeled. However, it was poorly laid out and left the kitchen isolated from the living spaces. Wood Wise designer Kathy Walker presented design options to improve the layout and open it up by removing the wall between the dining room and the kitchen. A partial wall between the kitchen and breakfast nook was also removed to make room for a peninsula. The existing closet pantry has been replaced with floor-to-ceiling cabinets which provide abundant storage. The large island with seating for 4 anchors the kitchen and provides ample space for food prep.
