Early 1900's Kitchen Remodel

This wonderful older home in downtown Vancouver, WA had been remodeled a couple different times before our clients bought it. There were varying layers of 70's, 80's, and 90's finishes, none of them appropriate for a home built in the 1910's. Even more perplexing, someone had framed in a dropped ceiling for no apparent reason- reducing the main floor ceiling height from over 9' to roughly 8'. We were able to return the kitchen and dining room to their original ceiling height and built a kitchen with a style much more appropriate to the era.

We also created a larger opening between the kitchen and dining room to let in more light and make space for the blue peninsula with cherry butcher block top. The back hallway was converted to a home office space with built in desk in a bright and cozy area with lots of natural light.
