A pocket door separates the accessory unit from the common area. A stair lift makes the 2nd story living unit accessible.

The stairs curl to the right. The bed (see next photo) is partially cantilevered over the stairs (out of eyesight to the right) using every bit of space.

The right side of the bed has a lift-up storage cover; the left side is cantilevered over the stairs. Every piece of furniture was accounted for down to the inch! The door on the right connects to the main house.

In this view you can see (counter-clockwise from right): the corner of the kitchen, the bedroom door, the stairs with the bed wall at the far right, and the corner of the living area. The living area is small but borrows space from the stairwell on the other side of the half wall.
