Second Generation, First-Class Kitchen

This was primarily a kitchen project but also included a new mud room and deck.

The dining table is in the foreground, prep area in the center (with sink, range and microwave drawer), pantry/fridge and clean up areas toward the rear. Note the electric fireplace, a client “ask” that they love!

Looking from the dining room into the kitchen, separated by a wall. No way to "chat" with the chef during cooking. The china cab was n tough shape as well.

We removed the wall between the kitchen (foreground) and the seldom-used dining room to create a generous space for preparing food and entertaining. A large island with prep sink is positioned opposite the range. Beyond that is the dining table and a banquette that contains additional storage.

As part of the project we also gave the powder room a makeover with new fixtures, wainscot, and playful “drunken monkey” wall paper.

10- This exterior view of the rear of the house shows the expansive deck and the mudroom. The detail on the gable end of the mudroom roof mimics the roof detail on the main house

The deck covers an existing exterior stair to the basement. Since they seldom use it, the homeowners opted not to spend money on a custom hydraulic cover and instead had us fabricate a series of hinged panels that can be raised if needed.
