A previous renovation had closed up the openings from the living room to the back of the house. Our goal was to open up the space and improve function and flow. We removed the wall (using LVLs to span the width and support the floor above) and pushed out the back wall to both open up the space and expand it.

The new kitchen is open and vibrant with contrasting white and bold blue cabinets. From the exterior, we removed the existing deck to make room for the addition. We replaced it with a new, smaller deck but added to the homeowner's outdoor living experience with a new large patio.
