Extreme Kitchen Makeover - West Chester
This project involved taking an existing kitchen which had a decent layout but whose style and functionality was not up to par. The stark white cabinets with white tile splash and blue flecked solid surface countertops were cold and uninviting.
We decided to update things by changing out the cabinet doors with a cleaner more contemporary flat panel door style painted with a warmer buttermilk white paint and a properly sized and installed crown moulding. We then replaced the Island with totally new, custom cherry Island with fluted corner columns and raised panel fronts and doors top by a flamed, black granite top. The dramatic styling and colors of the island work well as a center piece to the rest of the kitchen. For the perimeter countertops we used Cambria quartz. And then finally we added a little bling to the space by using glass 4" x 8" tiles with a center mosaic at the stove of four 12" x 12" ceramic tiles bordered by mixed glass and stone mini tiles! 3-panel glass doors accent three of the wall cabinets. With in-cabinet lighting the client is able to display some of her pottery collection.
