French Inspired Kitchen in Belmont Hill

With the help of Fresh Start Contracting, this Belmont Hill Kitchen brings French Bakery inspiration to Life. The existing brick and slate, single family home was built over 100 years ago, and the project goal was to create a kitchen that would honor the history of the house and the time it was built. Fresh Start Contracting quickly got to work with our design partners on a new cabinet design that would both achieve this look, and provide the ample storage and functionality that modern kitchens require. After many meetings to discuss the inspiration and final look desired, it was determined that Candlelight cabinetry would be the best partner for us to work with. This allowed the client to get the custom cabinet layout they so desired. A picture of a French bakery ended up being the final influence, which helped us to land on a painted (Stonehedge color), inset beaded door (Plymouth Door Style), with glass details, and bronze hardware. The sub-zero refrigerator received a full flush panel design to hide the modern appliance, and custom handles were provided to help blend the refrigerator with the overall design. The dishwasher received a similar treatment. A La Cornue range from France and an undercounter microwave help round out the appliance package. A farmhouse sink coupled with a Waterstone faucet in antique brass, and a fully custom, Vent-a-Hood in brushed stainless help to finish the look. The beautiful Carrera countertops pair perfectly with the handcrafted subway tile backsplash, and the large island creates a great central gathering place and buffet area for meals served in the adjoining dining room. While we were updating the kitchen, we also renovated the small master bathroom. Again, we wanted to respect the vintage charm of the home. A pedestal sink, handcrafted subway tile, and Carrera accents achieve this look while providing the homeowners with a modern and functional bath.
