Weston Renovation
We were contacted by a family who was looking to breathe some new life into their dated kitchen and under-used Farmer’s Porch. Teaming up with a designer and relative of the clients, we went to work, putting together a plan that would integrate the spaces from the garage to the kitchen. The first goal was making the kitchen beautiful, complimented by an eat-in area and wet bar for entertaining. The second goal was to enclose the porch and make it a part of the house as a mudroom. Using a fixed interior window, we kept the natural light flowing in from outside through the mudroom and into the living room, all while keeping it usable. New windows, cabinetry, tiles and a Dutch-door made this mudroom transition effortlessly into the new kitchen and entertaining space. The kitchen, featuring a 2-toned cabinet scheme, gold hardware and bead-board ceiling gave the feel of a modern farmhouse. The wet bar features a walnut counter-top and beverage station that clearly defines the 2 spaces, while also tying the room together. The nearby powder room was also renovated; adding new fixtures and a classic wallpaper pattern.
