Garden Shed

A very small garden shed published in Fine Homebuilding Spring/Summer issue of 2009. It has workspace downstairs for our garden and garden tools, a porch that faces the garden and a sleeping loft with buit-in beds in the shed dormers.
Plans and specs are available for the Garden Shed for $250.

It's located in the far corner of the garden and helps reinforce the open space. It's tangent to a path that leads to the compost area and alley access.

This is the porch for the shed that allows us to work partially under cover and provides a place to sit on the edge of the garden.

One end of the shed contains a counter with a sink and storage for small items.

The other end of the shed is for tea. The shed has about 11 windows, so it's quite light and has good views of the garden. The floors are recycled brick on sand. The wall sheathing is 1x8 pine applied diagonally.

The trap doors above a pull down ladder form the floor when closed. Build-in beds and a few tables make a place to camp out with the grand children.

These recycled and restored garage doors were fixed in place in the south wall to give good light for starting plants on a bench.
