Gibson Island Haven
This family wanted a pool and needed a fully functional, fully welcoming outdoor living and entertaining space. Over the years, they had rigged up temporary solutions, such as a tiny outdoor grill (with a big tank of propane) perched in an unsafe corner of the porch—that would have to change. They also needed a place to rinse off after guests returned from the waterfront.
The family was also tired of the chaos when they had guests. They wanted to turn their dim basement into a simple, sturdy, bright space for guests—who could range in age from children to college-aged to adult friends.
To address the homeowner’s needs, we designed a multipurpose, highly functional space that could welcome a diverse range of family and friends.
