For one of the firm’s most unique projects, our clients approached us with two requests: a screened in porch, and a second floor balcony. The solution, a two-story addition. Creative risks were taken. Knowing our clients’ fondness for modern design, we began the design on an architect’s dream—but something a builder would not want to touch. The steel required was both heavy and delicate, which meant scaffolding had to be built into the lot in the dead of winter. The outcome is bold and rewarding.
