Golf Couse Living Under a Custom Pergola
This home, located on The Greens Country Club golf course in NW OKC, has an exquisite southwest motif inside and out, including an aging rough timber arbor in need of a complete redesign and rebuild.
Revising the overall design of how the new pergola is anchored, existing stone columns and two additional load-bearing posts were used to allow acceptable stand-off from the existing roof. This practice completely mitigates roof leak issues that come with pergola members laid on shingles with fasteners penetrating roofing materials.
Adding cast stone capitals to the columns and using ornamental structural connectors added both style and function which allowed the irregular shape to blend seamlessly with the unique shapes of the overall hardscape plan.
