This rural acreage homesite needed separate living quarters for an aging-in-place relative. The cottage was built behind the primary home, far enough to allow privacy but close enough for quick and easy access.
The homeowner needed a minimal cost option and requested construction services to include only foundation, framing and exterior finish; So we were charged with ground-up construction and handed off a 'shell' completely finished on the exterior. Vinyl-frame windows and premium vinyl siding was used for a low-maintenance exterior.
The homeowner subcontracted all required mechanical trades; He also had background experience in carpentry and planned to do all interior finish work.
