Lobbies and hallways of condominiums and high rise apartment building co-ops welcome guests to your home; they set an introductory tone for your condo and are the first glimpse of your residence. That first impression should be warm, inviting, safe and well designed - it serves as indoor "curb appeal".
For this award-winning project, two very distinct patterns in contrasting colors and textures helped define the mail room and the outer lobby as coordinated but separate spaces while increasing visual appeal. The burgundy color of the wall covering in the mail room and outer lobby was echoed in the painted tray ceilings of the outer lobby and elevator hall as well as in the upholstery to maintain interest.
