Local records reflect this property was built in 1920. However, newspaper insulation dating back to 1879 was found in the original walls behind layers of shiplap and drywall.

The call to action was to create an open floor plan on the first floor for a new kitchen with custom cabinetry, an oversized island, and modern appliances. The scope of work and uneven walls, flooring, and ceilings required a complete demo of the kitchen and living room.

During the demo, the floor beneath the upstairs bathroom was noted to have been improperly repaired by a previous owner and added to the work scope. A full demo of the upstairs bathroom was required, and the bathroom was remodeled with an improved footprint. Restoration of the existing stairs was added to the scope of work. New stair treads were installed, and a customized handrail, newel post, and balusters were fully restored and color-matched to the new LVT flooring installed in the new open space on the first floor. The upstairs bathroom has tile floors; subway tiles surround the bathroom shower/tub with custom built-in shelving and new fixtures.
