Horse Barn and House

A two year old house was transformed by renovations and key additions. Interior spacial relationships and function were improved and materials, finishes and systems were upgraded. Detailing with an arts and crafts sensibility helps the large house feel cozy and welcoming. A six stall post and beam horse barn was sited to reinforce a farm yard space and is set across the slope of the hill so that horses are housed at midlevel while tractors are stored at the lowest level. Storage, an office and a recording studio occupy the loft space. A large cupola command extensive views of the pastures, woods and the Connecticut River valley.
