This newly built Mediterranean-style home is located on the outskirts of Los Angeles. The clients, a young American couple of Chinese origin, were looking for a contemporary design as opposed to a classic Mediterranean interior. They craved for something more edgy and fun that would mirror their outgoing personalities. With a mutual taste for modernity and clean-lined furniture, our task was to challenge this traditional space. It was important to incorporate a variety of colors and textures in the interest of creating a lively and vivacious atmosphere that illustrates the couple’s lifestyle.
Sylvia Beez, principal of m.a.p. interiors inc., is a European-born designer who takes her inspiration from her travels around the world. Her approach is international and eclectic as she blends world cultures with a variety of design styles in order to create a vibrant and timeless atmosphere. The result is a playful and creative interpretation of contemporary living in Southern California.
