The space was originally designed in a beach inspired style that did not fit the taste of the new inhabitants. They were looking for a clean-lined, sophisticated design that would focus on the display of their modern art collection. The idea was to also maximize the sense of space by keeping an open floor plan with a simple yet efficient layout.

Sylvia Beez chose furnishings and accessories that not only reflected the personalities of the owners and their appreciation for contemporary Italian and French furniture, but which also complemented their modern art collection and Asian artifacts.

Sylvia Beez, principal of m.a.p. interiors inc., is a European-born designer who takes her inspiration from her travels around the world. Her approach is international and eclectic as she blends world cultures with a variety of design styles in order to create a vibrant and timeless atmosphere.
