Laurel Canyon Contemporary

This modern two-story home combines iconic mid-century furnishings with comfortable sofas and a contemporary kitchen that is the center of the open plan living space. A crisp color scheme of gray, black and white is carried throughout the home, with pops of navy, cobalt and teal. With bi-fold patio doors leading outside, this is California indoor-outdoor living at its best.

The living room area of the home is delineated by a custom rug, cobalt blue linen sofa and two swivel chairs. Platner side tables flank the sofa, with a walnut and stainless steel coffee table. The bi-fold doors are framed in black and open to the seating area in the backyard.

The dining room area is situated just off the entry and incorporated the clean mid-century design aesthetic my clients were looking for. We chose the art (from their amazing collection!) to compliment the dining room.

With a waterfall detail on the left of the quartz countertop, this modern kitchen also has a breakfast area overlooking the patio. A porcelain tile backsplash compliments the white quartz counters. Bookshelves hold the homeowners collection of cookbooks.

We kept things clean and modern in the entryway, but still welcoming and warm. The sleek walnut and stainless steel console has room for books and a place to drop your keys. The classic mid-century coatrack is both functional and a cool piece of sculpture.

The master bedroom has soft shades of gray and white with a teal colored custom velvet chaise for relaxing. The gray and white shag rug provides texture and coziness. The stunning black and white artwork is an amazing focal point in the room.
