This young family approached us asking for an open and bright living space to enjoy it with their kids. The renovation included the gutting the space back to studs, create an open kitchen/living space by relocating the kitchen towards the side and back of the house. New large windows were installed on the sink wall to a very unique view to the backyard, the levels of this lot is unique as there's a slope from the front of the house towards the back which makes the back part of the house lower than the front; this creates a nice view to the swimming pool and the back yard.

The roof in that area was re-configured and 3 skylights were installed to allow natural light to enter into the living space. New windows installed at the front and back of the house to complement the existing windows and provide more light.

The new location of the kitchen provide more functional path with living and dining. All cabinets on the permiter of the kitchen are shaker door style in Latte color. The island was accented with with a darker stain and a full slab of Delicatus granite.

3 pendants lights were hung from the ceiling over the island, the finish was matched to the finish on the plumbing fixtures for harmony.

New dark walnut 2.25” site finished hardwood floors were installed throughout the space. The dark colors well balances the brightness and lights entering the kitchen from the skylights and windows.
